OVERVIEW:
Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel is located right in the middle of the Strip. Its proximity to many different hotel and casinos, attractions and shows makes it a great destination for the average Las Vegas visitor. The Harrah’s Las Vegas is considered a middle-of-the-road property. It’s not a 5-star resort but its far from being a dive. In the past, it’s party atmosphere has been somewhat lacking with no signature club or lounges. However, in recent years, its nightlife has began to come alive. The addition of some new restaurants and bars has ramped up the overall vibe.
HISTORY:
Resembling a Mississippi riverboat, this property originally opened as the Holiday Casino in 1973. It remained until 1992 when the hotel and casino was renamed to Harrah’s. The resort’s showboat theme was abandoned in 1997 for its current Marti Gras/Carnival theme. In April of 1994, the casino’s cashier’s cage was robbed by an armed man who escaped with nearly $100,000. In 2000, another armed confrontation occurred resulting in a Harrah’s security officer and a hotel guest being shot. The hotel guest, shot in the back, later died from her wounds.
FACTS & TIDBITS:
Toby Keith’s "I Love This Bar & Grill" has an awesome Fried Bologna Sandwich. You can wash it down with a White Trash with Money or a Who’s Your Daddy Margarita!
HIDDEN TIPS:
If you're looking for a special treat, there is an ice cream stand in Harrah’s called IcePan. They make your ice cream to order from scratch right in front of you. The entire process only takes a minute or two and the results are delicious.

BARS:
The Carnaval Court is an outdoor bar located outside the Harrah's casino, directly on the Las Vegas Strip’s pathway (although it's set back from the actual street). The music is typically pretty loud and the bartenders serve drinks with their own unique style. It’s an excellent spot for people watching since everyone walking the strip passes by the bar. If you're looking for a party spot, The Carnaval Court is a great place to drink, dance and listen to some live music.
Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill is located on the second level in the back of the Harrah's main casino floor. While it may be a little hard to find, it's surprisingly a fun, high energy bar and well worth a trip. You don't need to listen to country music to enjoy Toby's place. The fairly large bar area is separated from the restaurant section by half wall, which is just enough to create its own energy. We love the fact that they actually serve cold beer in a mason jar!
