OVERVIEW:
After 30+ years, the long standing Asian themed hotel called the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino is gone. All the Asian influence and décor was removed as the hotel was rebranded as The Quad. Well, that didn't last too long... less then 2 years to be exact. After being renovated and modernized again, the hotel is now known simply as The LINQ. Whatever it's called, the location is still one of its best features. Located in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip, the The LINQ's location is excellent, with quick access to everything including the new LINQ retail and entertainment district. With the opening of LINQ and the hotel, the party atmosphere has really ramp up. The hotel itself has a handful of bars and lounges including the trendy new Catalyst Bar, but the real party can be found right outside with the rebirth of the famous O'Sheas casino and the entire LINQ district.
HISTORY:
Over the years, this property has been know as the Flamingo Capri, Imperial Palace, The Quad and now the LINQ Hotel & Casino. The hotel was originally built in 1959 as the Flamingo Capri. In 1979, the hotel changed owners and was renamed the Imperial Palace. During the 1980s, the hotel went through several major expansions. In that ten year period, 4 hotel towers were constructed, expanding the hotel by over 2,000 rooms. At the end of 2012, the resort was officially renamed and rebranded as The Quad, which was going to anchor the new LINQ retail and entertainment district. After spening millions of dollars on The Quad rebranding, Caesars Entertainment decided to rename the hotel after only 18 months. A few months later, in October of 2014, the hotel was offically renamed and opened as the LINQ Hotel and Casino.
FACTS & TIDBITS:

1. For many years, it wasn't uncommon to have Cher, Elvis, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson or some other celebrity impersonator dealing blackjack on the casino floor. Dealertainers, as they were known, performed from 2003 until they were discontinued on September 8, 2014.

2. After 18 years, the "World's Largest Classic Car Showroom" known as the Auto Collection closed in December 2017. The attraction was well known for famous and especially rare cars.

3. For all you gamers out there, the Four Dragons Casino in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the old Imperial Palace.

HIDDEN TIPS:
If you're looking for a game of beer pong, head over to O'Sheas Casino. With up to 5 beer pong tables, there always seems to be a game going on.
